Wireless Applicaton Protocol. It is a standard of browsing and transferring of especially prepared pages in the cell phones. It is an application of XML. WAP is conceived by established cell phone (devices and infrastructure) vendors in order to suck maximum money from network operators and in order to prevent corporations based on open standards (like HTML) to play any major role in cell phone industry.
