Comments from Neil Enns about Avenger

Neil Enns writes:

It was called "Avenger" and came after Firefly. It was smaller than Firefly (much smaller radio!), it lacked a colour screen. For a long time it was the most portable hardware we had for actually using the Smartphone software in the wild. We used them at GSM World Congress in 2000.

I had one with a clear case that was pretty darn nifty: you could see the boards and whatnot inside.
