Showcase presentation of Bill Gates - part 2 of 2

At certain moment Bill has introduced Ian Maxwell from Vodafone (the first from the left, second from the left is Bill himself):

... what gave an opportunity to announce the Vodafone-Microsoft deal:

... that however does not include delivering Microsoft smartphones to Vodafone (yet) but it is about using of Microsoft software in building infrastructure for web services. More about Vodafone-Microsoft deal read from our former news item here.

One interesting point of Vodafone-Microsoft deal was "Vodafone USB dongle":

... that includes slot for SIM card (a subscription smart card for GSM networks) so that users can access services also on a regular PC!!!

Here you can see, that this new solution allows for access to services both from mobile phone (Microsoft smartphone from Motorola presented in the picture) and from PC:

(texts from the picture above: Intelligent Communications: Real Time communications and collaboration, Link the telephone and the PC, Calls routed 24/7 to appropriate device; Integrated presence info in all applications)

For some time Bill withdrawn and allowed its employees to give 2 presentations of capababilities of Microsoft software in cell phone industry. The general idea of the first presentation was, that somebody´s car got broken and this somebody is calling a service number. Thanks to Microsoft technologies this somebody is being located and serviced. Another presentation was about buying chocolate over "Live Communication Server" technology. Some pictures from these presentations follow.

Here is voice over IP (VoIP) application in action:

... that even uses "caller ID" so that one can see who is calling with VoIP technology!

At certain moment Jonas Hasselberg came (as part of one of the presentations) and showed Orange SPV E200 phone on the big display:

Here is more about Microsoft at Home: Entertaining and Educating:

Bill also underlined tht Microsoft smartphone increases ARPU and is thus a very profitable device for cellular network operators:

This is the final slide of the presentation:

... that highlights "Data Video Voice" general idea and both sides of the story:
