Dell Axim X3 Review - Part 1 - What´s in the box

After taking things out from the box (and boxes within boxes) ones gets following items:

... where you can observe the cradle (left-top corner), the pouch (right to the cradle), the PDA itself (left-bottom corner) and the powere suppply (right to the PDA). Apart from that, on the right side of the picture you can see user manuals and the companion CD ROM.

If we take closer look at the PDA itself (i.e. the Dell Axim with integrated Wi-Fi) we can notice that typical Dell stylus and the protruding antenna:

After taking yet closer look at the antenna we are a bit shocked:

... because, as you can see above, on the antenna, on the left side we have noticed a symbol of Bluetooth (!) and to the right the symbol of Wi-Fi communication. The Bluetooth symbol is strange because this Dell Axim X3 does not have built-in Bluetooth at all! So maybe it is a sign of things to come... also because when the Wi-Fi in Dell Axim X3 is working the left part of the antenna is glowing (leaving the right part for Bluetooth):

Here you can see various connectors and sockets:

On picture above, from the left to the right you can notice:
  1. USB connector that is attached to the cradle
  2. the power socket that is inside of the cradle
  3. the power adapter that is being used as converter between power supply and the PDA itself
  4. the power connector that is attached to the power supply
  5. the power socket inside of the power supply - depending on in which region of the world you are located in, you will get, then a shorter cable attachable to this socket, that is compatible with electricity network in your country
  6. the power + sync socket in the PDA itself
Shortly speaking to charge your PDA without the cradle you need to make such connection between (3) and (4) from the list above:

The pouch (a leather case) looks like this:

... and as you can see it can easily be attached to the belt and carried around very comfortably.

All in all one can be satisfied with the content of the box with Dell Axim X3 with integrated Wi-Fi. Everything needed in every day usage is in place and one does not need to buy additional accessories to get started.
