ROM Update of a "HTC Tanager" smartphone with "PPCW.Net i-Mate Smartphone 2002"

We cannot say which "Tanager" model (SPV E100, QTek 7070, Smart Amazing Phone, Eurotel, etc etc) is working with this update, but the "Tanager" that we tried - it was not a "i-mate" anyway - worked very well. We suggest you simply to give it a try! (be aware that you can lose your GPRS settings and other data and settings - so make backups and write down them before making the update) For detailed description how to do it click here - the link to the ROM update application (for Windows) is available there too.

How have we carried out this update? First of all hold down the "voice record" button, and then turn the power button on. The "Canary" display appears with many color stripes. Now connect it over USB to PC computer - and connect also power supply to th phone. Once connected, then start the application downloaded from the link above. The application will run the procedure and at the end you have new "i-mate" ROM inside of your smartphone! Below are some screenshots and photos to give you impression how it goes.

First the ROM of the smartphone is being erased and on the PC side it looks like this:

Then the ROM of the Tanager smartphone is being written and on PC it looks like this:

At the end the update is ready:

Now you have to take the batter out of the phone and disconnect it - and keep it without battery for 30 seconds. Now put the battery back and switch the phone on. Now, during booting of the smartphone you will notice that you have now "i-mate" ROM:
