Location of MDC 2004 Europe: Amsterdam, Netherlands, EU

MDC 2004 Europe is a part of Tech*Ed Europe 2004 conference and takes place in Netherlands - a country located north of Germany and east of Belgium. Netherlands is a member of European Union (EU) and all EU citizens can enter it without visa and without any problems. In fact Netherlands (known also as "Holland") is also a member of "Schengen area" what means that there are no border controls to Germany, Belgium and other countries from this area.

Similarly like most of the EU countries, the Netherlands uses "Euro" currency (1 Euro = 1.x US dollar; where "x" is something between 2 and 4). All paper currency (banknotes) across all Euro countries are the same, the design of coins however is very similar in each country one side but on another side there are country-specific features. Coins from other Euro countries can be naturally used also in Netherlands - actually some people have a hobby of collecting various Euro coins. One Euro is divided into 100 (euro) cents.

Dutch is the national language of Holland. However, English is spoken by everyone in Amsterdam. In addition, many Dutch people speak German and French.

The conference itself (Tech*Ed of which MDC 2004 Europe is a part) is located under this address:

Amsterdam RAI
Europaplein 22
NL 1078 GZ Amsterdam

And here is the location of Europaplein street:

This street is located south of Amsterdam Central Railway station - not in the centre of the city but rather close to suburbs.
