Fonix VoiceDial for Microsoft Smartphone

After installation and launching of the Fonix VoiceDial the following dialog appears:

The program is "listening" and asks you to say something! After you say something the program suggests something - usually some position from your Contacts:

Interestingly you can select voice, with which program is speaking:

... and as you can see above there is no "UK English" possibility - only "US English" - male and female voices are available.

If you wouldnīt like to rely on the built-in speech recognition and built-in text-to-speech then you can add your own pronunciation:

So you can add your own pronuncation by simply speaking it when in this dialog:

Once added then this user-added pronunciation is marked by "user icon" near to the contact name:

Conclusion: Fonix VoiceDial is a simple but quite effective program, that is not too expensive - just $15.95 . Despite the fact, that this program has a decent text-to-speech engine, unfortunately this engine is used only when Contact Names are being spoken by the program. There is no possibility to use this text-to-speech engine in other programs and it is impossible to open a text file and read it aloud with this engine. Having possibility to read text files with text-to-speech engine would add a lot of value to this program but Fonix didnīt do it and therefore we canīt recommend this program.
