Rumors from Finland: Nokia (still) plots against Microsoft

The fact that Nokia licensed Server Side ActiveSync and Windows Media DRM technologies from Microsoft, doesn´t mean that Nokia stopped secret operations designed to prevent Windows Mobile phones powered by Microsoft software from succeeding.

Here is what our informer from Helsinki, Finland writes about current activities of Nokia against Microsoft - activities that Nokia carries out and discussed during a meeting in December 2005 in Helsinki - with certain corporations:

1. Anti-Competitive Branding: This is a goal by these corporations to make Microsoft look evil in eyes of EU. They wish to make Nokia EU´s leader (and Asia) and keep Microsoft for America.

2. Breakage: New Nokia phones will require no drivers and it is Nokia´s intention to make them compatible with Activesync (old news). Nokia then intends to ´embrace and extend´ ActiveSync.

* * * * *

The companies represented are Nokia (obviously), Sony and a new company called MobileHandeve (headed by none other than the CEO of Sendo).

The biggest surprise was that there was a fourth company that, by what our informer was reading in the papers from this meeting, didn´t agree with all that was said, but did take part. HTC!!!!!

Conclusion: Nokia is doing dark things to manipulate the marketing of mobile phones and Microsoft could be betrayed by friendlies.
