no, it is PHS - a Japanese only standard but it has Wi-Fi and the same operator is offering also Wi-Fi access.

Sharp is producing fantastic mobile phones - for example UMTS phones for Vodafone - so if it produced this phone for Japan, chances are increasing that Sharp will start producing Windows Mobile phones also for USA and Europe!

Out dated technology????

Jesus, look at it, and the prize.....then look at HTC-Wizard/Universal
I would be quite happy with this device if it only came as a GSM/UMTS version.

Besides i think it's about time that competition is raised in this market.
We are paying way to much for HTC devices that never even live up to what they are sold as.

yes but this is probably commissioned by DoCaMo...we cant be sure that the subsidy is not ex works...

I totally agree as HTC now requires some real competition. With the Jasjar they have simply looted their clients as this is not even half way of the pre launch hype created by HTC.
