I have tried installing Sirius satellite radio player on my Audiovox Verizon which is equipped with EVDO service. I have not been able to make the player work. I get an error message saying Windows media player cannot play this file. I know in the instructions it was mentioned that the first time that this program is run one would get an error message on the Windows media player. However, I get the error message every time I run the program. I have tried closing Windows media player in the opening it as well as closing the Sirius player and also rebooting the device twice without success. Has anyone else gotten this to work on the Verizon network?

sorry but it requires Windows Media player 10. You probably have version 9, not 10.
it's not issue with Verizon network but with your phone. Which phone exactly you have? |

You are absolutely right. I have Windows Media player 9 on my device. I guess I am out of luck on this one.
I have the Audiovox XV6600 Pocket PC (Camera Phone).
As you have suggested I am waiting for the Windows Mobile 5 devices to be released before I buy my next PPC phone device.
Thanks for the info and keep up the good work. You site and your podcasts are one of the most usefull on the topic of mobile phones. I really your appreciate the unbiased opoinions and your frank and direct point of view.

I was thrilled to find a work around for Sirius on my PPC-6700 - downloaded and followed the instructions to the letter - but still no luck - only error messages. Can you help?
I have a PPC-6700, running on Sprint - Windows Mobile 5 and Media Player 10. I also have a Sirius subscription and listen happily on my desktop computer. I have been trying for a month to find a way to play Sirius on my pocket PC...
Any help appreciated! |
