Actually the only reason they can claim a 50% increase is because their revenue in September 2004 was particularly low, at only $49 million, whereas its usually in the high 60-80 million. Quarter on Quarter there is actually a drop of 24%, from 97 million in July 2005 to 74 million in September 2005.
I am however encouraged with how close the Mobile and embedded devices department is to profitability, with only a 2 million loss. Hopefully with a raft of devices being released soon (I count about 30 devices announced in the last 2 months) they will reach profitability in December 2005.

Being in the embedded devision has its advantages, e.g. steady revenue from the Point of Sale area e.g. shop tills and ATM's. Also Embedded devices have much less tolerance for instability, which will bleed over into the WM section, as they use the same kernel.
The WM team definitely think of PDA's as embedded devices, not little computers, which is why they do not see the 32 process limit as a real problem.

Measuring growth like this quarter-on-quarter does not make any sense at all that tell u is that markets are seasonal. Proper growth compares quarters anually. |
