My major concern with TomTom is their Support, which is terrible. It is practically impossible to contact them, you need to go through their awful FAQ. The last time I tried to contact them I had to trawl through the faq for about an hour before I stumbled on a contact method.
Additionally their licencing process is draconian, I have installed TomTom on one PDA, this PDA turned out to be faulty, if I then try and install it on a working PDA I cannot activate it as TomTom say it is already activated. To resolve this you need to contact TomTom (which is near impossible, see above) and send them details about both PDAs, this whole process takes days. TERRIBLE!!!!
Additionally there is a contact number to ring, which 99% of the time tells you to ring back later. I have spent hours trying to ring them with no luck.
Does anyone else have problems with TomTom support? |

| TomTom is not the market leader in Europe. MN is, by virtue of its market share in Germany. Its got twice the share as TT. |

| TomTom also uses TeleAtlas map data, which (at least in North America) are not as accurate as Navteq maps. |

i had a play with navigon a while ago, its 'ok' as satnav goes
the main issues is that it doesnt work on any orange rom, and they wont solve that problem
it being slow on the old c500 was also a bit of a bugger, but it looks nice and the maps where ok, but bad navigon for not letting people with the orange rom use it
later
