While previously after being nominated an MVP title, it took sometimes even 1 year and more to be actually awarded MVP, this time it looks like Microsoft is in a hurry with awarding maximal number of MVPs in minimal...

well as a starter for ten I would imagine that M$ take some exception to being labelled by you as major bribers amongst other negative remarks you make based on personal angst rather than informed credible criticism.

There's "fair comment" which you get from other websites and then there is your admitted "spiced up" tabloid journalism.

You won't get an MVP but you might get an MIB.

I don't think it's that you criticise Microsoft that's the problem - it's the manner in which you do so.

From example, an MVP may say:

"I think Microsoft needs to look at the way it appoints MVPs. The criteria on which they are selected is not clear and could be improved."

But you say:

"Microsoft are retards for not giving me an MVP award and everyone involved should be sacked!!! I'm the greatest and why don't they see it?"

Remember - MVP stands for Most Valuable Professional and the way you act is far from professional. Improve your attitude and the standard of your journalism and I'm sure that they would recognise your contribution.

Dude....Here you go again gauging everything on the number of hits to a given site, whether it be what you consider to be a high number hitting your site, or a low number hitting Clinton Fitch's site. Given that it is a proven fact that one needs to do nothing more than sit in their chair and lip sinc to "Dragostea Din Tei" to get high numbers of hits, I think proves that your method of evaluation is seriously flawed.

Look at what you do here....you spend your life scouring the internet for bits of news, then link to it, and make the odd offhanded comment either praising it or slandering it. Nothing more. Now look at what people like Clinton Fitch do. They spend hours reviewing a piece of software or some new hardware. They take pictures, and screeshots. Then edit them. They write the review, edit it and post in on their site. It takes a lot of effort to do all that on a regular basis. Its great that folks like Microsoft spend the time, money and energy to award that kind of effort. I'm sure that most of the community is thankful they do, opposed to awarding the individual with the most hits to their site.

It comes down to this...It's not what you know. It's what you DO with what you know.

Dave

you are utterly wrong: msmobiles.com also publishes reviews (see review of Cingular 2125:
http://msmobiles.com/news.php/4691.html
or review of PowerPoint editing in ClearVue app:
http://msmobiles.com/news.php/4746.html
).
And also msmobiles.com is sending reporters to trade shows (see for example reports from 3GSM conference in France:
http://msmobiles.com/search.php?q=congress+2005+coverage&iIn=1&BSearch=Search
or from ITU telco conference in Switzerland:
http://msmobiles.com/search.php?q=live+from+switzerland&iIn=1&BSearch=Search
).

These are just examples!!! FEW EXAMPLES of many many available on msmobiles.com !

So please stop lying, Paragon, at once, or I will ban you from this forum for flaming and lying!

may it be that you're just a complete idiot, arrogant, who can't write? Your site is just *funny*...and that's the only reason why I (and most of the others, I guess) come here from time to time. But you're far far away from being a serius and well-balanced site...

funny? not only funny: at msmobiles.com you can find also (!) information not to be found anywhere else. Of course it is not well-balanced particularly if you mean by this "full of brownnosing": msmobiles.com is a tabloid.

<jokingly>
Did you ever think that you didn't receive MVP because your traffic rank for your website is so miniscule?
Traffic Rank for modaco.com: 23,214
Traffic Rank for smartphonethoughts.com: 63,172
Traffic Rank for clintonfitch.com: 1,184,081
Traffic Rank for smartphone.tv: 3,507,257
You are trailing the pack by a large margin!
</jokingly>

Seriously MSMobiles, after each of your blah blah blah posts about the MVP program, do we have to remind you that there is more to the MVP program than just running a website? There is magazines which people write for, educational courses which people teach, and regional special interest groups which people organize and lead, just to name a few. Oh, and some MVP's also run websites.

Traffic Rank for msmobiles.com: 15,942 (about 16000) which is NOT miniscule, but very big.

And amount of peple that got help through msmobiles.com is MANY TIMES bigger (sometimes thousand times) than amount of people that received help from most MVPs. And yes, many MVPs got their title ONLY due to having websites that help users... or their non-website activities are super tiny (a meeting of 20 people is nothing but a joke, not a community building).

And don't you compare courses and local meetings that have 20-100 people to massive number of people (over 20,000 a day) that get help from msmobiles.com each day. We live in 21st century and very often online help is more useful than real-life meeting in small group.

Awards are nice but they don't make a site great. Well written and helpful content will help solidify your sites reputation. Going off on a tangent becasue you are not nominated for an award won't help your cause. It comes across as unprofessional and frankly sounds as if your whining.
My advice to you is to look at this as a learning experience and focus your energies on improving your site. If you got into this for the accolades then I am sorry to say, my friend, that you got into it for the wrong reason.

So what do you have to say about MVPs that don't even have a website? Someone can have face to face contact with 20 people at a meeting and have a much more positive impact than your 20,000 people reading your dribble that is more bashing than it is constructive or helpful.

......PLEASE...I know your banner says no censorship, but somehow a glitch in your system has deleted two of my posts, just in the past 24hrs. Wink

I say: not whether somebody has website or not but how many people are getting help from somebody - this should be deciding factor

no, it's not just bashing, it's also helpful for people to get full view of the situation, and not just a limited one-sided view
