Its been called the RAZR-Berry, because it has all of the style of a Motorola
RAZR, with the form factor or a BlackBerry. Style and looks aside, the Motorola
Q is an exceptional device with Windows Mobile 5.0 Sm...

| The look of this is not that far removed from an HP iPaq. It seems to me that an iPaq 6900 is a better option as it has wi-fi and GPS. The MOTO has neither. |

They're different types of phones entirely. The iPaq is a PPC, the Moto is a smartphone. The iPaq is only a better option if you prefer a PPC. |

Yeah I know that. What I said is that the Moto has a similar look to an iPaq . My point - why bother with the Moto when the iPaq offers so much more. |

good question! answers:
--- Q has jog dial (wheel like in BlackBerry) and iPAQ not
--- Q is more stylish
--- Q is much flatter
--- Q has more pixels: 320x240 compared to 240x240 in iPAQ |

|
|
| Does anyone know if the Moto Q will support Stereo Bluetooth? There was an article on msmobiles last week explaining that the A2DP profile will be added to Windows Mobile 2005 in a few months. If this is the case, will the Moto Q be able to support stereo bluetooth with just a ROM upgrade? Is it just an added Bluetooth profile or are there other hardware changes that are required? |

yes, Q will support Bluetooth stereo audio streaming. Anyway it requires only software upgrade and no hardware upgrade but at the time when Q will be released (I estimate: March 2006) I reckon that it will be shipping with it pre-installed. |

Did you happen to ask them if the MinSD slot is SDIO compatible? (For a WiFi card or other) _________________ http://www.qusers.com

qusers.com,
Thanks for your great question. Yes, the Motorola Q does have a SDIO compatible slot, we did not see it used with a SDIO capable (WiFi) device however. _________________ Adam Abet

Kvee,
There are huge differences between the two devices, some are simple and non technical, like the form factor and style of the device. Believe me when I tell you the device looks a lot better than the HP, and it is also smaller. All of this and the keyboard is easier to use. As pointed out earlier, it has a blackberry like scroll as well.
Now to the real difference, the HP is a Windows Mobile Pocket PC device, this means it has more functionality, and a touch screen. The Motorola Q is a Windows Mobile bases Smartphone device, so it has a streamlined user interface, and is much easier to use than a Pocket PC. It will be faster, and will work much better as a phone device. With the inclusion of a keyboard, the device will excel at editing and creating new documents, previous Windows Mobile Smartphone devices have been more of a viewing device, with limited editing capabilities.
We believe this device will further bridge the gap between Pocket PC and Smartphone, giving more edit ability to the Smartphone platform. The only other Windows Mobile Smartphone device with an integrated keyboard is the Sierra Wireless Voq, which is a great device because of the keypad, even though its awkward.
I recommend you look into the differences between the two platforms and determine what your needs are, I am certain you wont be disappointed with a Motorola Q, it’s a superb device. I would recommend a Treo 700w over a HP however, it much better. _________________ Adam Abet
