Only available with an Asian ROM right now, the Gigabyte gSmart Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Phone does have AKU2, and I believe it was released on 12/29. |
BeyondtheTech, I am very grateful for your insightful remarks but sorry: I don't believe that gSmart is available commercially. "Announced" is not the same as "released". |

OK, I will ask friends in China (mainland, Hong Kong or Taiwan) to translate it.
However please note, that this what companies claim on their websites is not the same as real commercial availability ... I have seen it so in past. |

Firstly, where do you think the ETEN M600 firmware upgrades come from?? They come from ETEN. Of Pocket PC manufacturers, ETEN is probably the BEST at releases firmware upgrades quickly and in a timely fashion. Unlike HP that leave known bugs hanging for months, ETEN actually responds by releasing an updated firmware pretty quickly.
The M600 has not be released for very long and already, there have been multiple firmware upgrades. This is pretty good. The argument in this article is completely bogus.

these upgrades for M600 are not available at website of ETEN so they are kind of unofficial me thinks and apart from that there's no upgrade with stereo audio over Bluetooth (A2DP) available yet... |

The firmware upgrades come from ETEN's FTP server. ETEN's website just isn't very good. I take it that you don't actually own an ETEN M600. Sorry, but your whole article is bogus.
The latest firmware is 171 which is available in a number of languages. As for stereo audio over Bluetooth, no commerically available Pocket PC phone has that.
The simple fact is that the ETEN M600 has had more firmware upgrades, of which there were some significant improvements and bug fixes than any other Pocket PC phone. Your argument that ETEN is less committed to firmware upgrades than say HP is absolute nonsense. Quite simply, new factory released M600 devices come with the newer firmware versions. They are hardly "unofficial".
Please do some proper research before posting this drivel.

have you read this:

?
anyway: the point of article was that ETEN is not making these ROM upgrades available directly... but I would be glad to mirror them on msmobiles.com if they wish - without any user registration/passowrd - without anything. |
