We expected it to happen Monday afternoon - during Microsoft's press conference at 3GSM, but apparently Microsoft did it on Monday, just minutes after midnight European time.... here are the news:

I wouldn't worry that much about UMTS handsets for now.Most blackberry's still operate on gprs, I have a HTC universal and 3G signal is not very strong in my area..
what am more concerned about with is lack of Microsoft UMTS smartphones.
