The worst is happening: ROM upgrades with Push Email are rolling out (not all public yet, but our sources already have them) and some of operators and distributors are not placing the A2DP (support for stereo audio ...

| Just out of interest, where has it been stated that Orange UK won't include A2DP support in their ROM upgrades? I've not been able to find information on this anywhere. What is your source? |

I hope I-Mate will release their SP5 Update with A2DP PLUS I hope they will release it TODAY!
The longer I wait, the more I get angry. Why have I bought an dearer i-Mate phone, when their support is not better than that of any other manufacturer.
Btw: Leaked SP5 und Universal ROM is out now. -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=239039 |

| Why would HTC or any other OEMs not include A2DP if it is ready and available from Microsoft? OEMs don't need to pay extra to Microsoft to include A2DP in their devices. And every OEM would love to have one more thing listed on their feature list. So why would HTC and others want to put in extra efforts to remove it? Do you really think it is because these guys hate their customers and want to cheat for nothing? Maybe you should not jump to your conclusion so fast... |

Unfortunately he's telling the truth. Neither the M5000 or C600 AKU2 ROMs have A2DP. HTC are pulling it out of the ROMs, not the carriers. _________________ My views are my own and are in no way connected to any site i may be associated with |

| Wat is the reason behind tat they do not include A2DP in the ROM update? I can't think of any advantages tat benefit the telcos or HTC. |

yes, that MUST be it. I remember once I was playing with 3rd party Bluetooth stacks for MDA Compact and at the end I had to give up on them, because stability of the OS was gone... |

| It's because stereo Bluetooth works on same bandwidth that mono does and it requires device to recompress audio on the fly to lower bitrate. |

are you saying that HTC Wizard (K-JAM) has not enough processing power to handle stereo Bluetooth? |

I have no idea, I just wanted to extend the post "Maybe they are having trouble getting it working on there devices" statement, to put some light on how does it really work in background and that it's not that easy as some may think.
Maybe they are too lazy to implement this for all devices... |

good point! so it must be not processor speed but some interoperability issues - that some other things stop to work when A2DP is used... |

er..no, thats not it. There's nothing wrong with A2DP, it works fine. They're just holding off until AKU2.2 _________________ My views are my own and are in no way connected to any site i may be associated with |
