The latest T-mobile UK ROM for the mda pro has a2dp. It works I tried it last night.
No Push email though.
I am sure someone will work out the bit of the extension ROM's that are required for everything. |

Question:
How can you be so sure that this firmware update for the JASJAR (Qtek 9000) really enables the MS Push Mail functionality and the other AKU2 features (maybe with the exception of A2DP) ?
There is a firmware update around for the Qtek 9100 (aka JAM). This contains the AKU2 functionality (I#m not sure about the BT Audio feature, as I do not have a Qtek 9100).
But this firmware version has 2.x, also reflected in the naming of the zipped binary.
The JASJAR firmware mentioned here, at least bears an other 1.x version according to the filename of the zipped package.
So, is there confirmation that it *really* contains the AKU2 upgrade ?
And if so, why does the one filename suggest it is a major upgrade (2.x) and the other still shows a 1.x version ?
Regards
ghl
Other question: Can the JASJAR update also be used on an unlocked Qtek 9000 ? And when will Qtek issue their own AKU2 update ? |

The only "way" to tell if your device has Direct Push Email is in the ActiveSync settings. When I chose "As items arrive" on the Gigabyte gSmart Phone I reviewed on Pocket PC Thoughts, there was no prompt for an SMS email address. Yet, it initated a GPRS connection (yuck) and got all of my Exchange mail instantly.
If you can click on a hyperlink in ActiveSync labeled, "Set up your device to sync when new items arrive" and it's asking for a text messaging address, you don't have the Direct Push Email. _________________ Bubble Buster Advanced

This is really getting annoying. Why are manufacturers leaving out A2DP? I think someone really has to ask them! _________________ Digging up the juicy rumors and answering questions you never thought you had My Blog covers PDAs and smartphones from a decidedly german perspective.

they can't tell publicly because it would be badmouthing of their partners. The reason: hardware problems with intel processors and intel based chipsets that make Bluetooth streaming difficult or impossible and fine tuning is needed ... and it could be that this problem will not be resolvable in software! in other words: some Windows Mobile 5.0 phones may never ever get A2DP... |
