Good news on the radio app, only a 10 day wait ! |
it was unofficial promise, so it is not 100% certain.
I tested G500 with TomTom, Mapopolis, and it seems to work perfectly with all applications.
Say, is it correct that the proper port setting is: COM4 and speed 38400 kbps ? no other speed and no other port will work? |

| Yep, that's the setting you need, it's just a matter of establishing the connection though, like plugging a cable, once it works you're set, baudrate settings don't have an impact on GPS performance. |

so you are saying that one can use other value than 38400 and it will work too? |

No, just that this is the one you need and that GPS performance wouldn't be impacted by a different speed, sometimes people in the forums think they can get better performance if their GPS is set at 57600, that's what I thought you were asking |

| Have you used it with a bluetooth stereo headset ? It works ok with the Globalsat BTH-820, but the sound is pretty bad and sounds like low bitrate MP3s when playing music via WMP or even voice instructions via TomTom, wonder if there are not some unresolved issues with A2DP in WM5.0. |

no, I haven't tried yet A2DP in G500 - I will do it with i-tech and Moto stereo headsets and let you know.
In meantime please listen to my interview with president of E-TEN where he says that A2DP is not quite mature and fully compatible yet:
