It is not official and you do this upgrade only at your own responsibility, but it is available anyway... so hopefully also official version will be released once too...
Apparently somebody has extraced Windo...

The install works like a champ. This upgrade breathes new life into the i730. Originally a decent one-handed phone, it's now a top-notch, one-handed phone.
Memory-wise, after a soft reset, the phone has the following memory specs:
Storage:
Total: 58.53
In use: 2.0
Free: 56.53
Program:
Total: 58.09
In use: 15.41
Free: 42.68
New controls for radios - including simultaneous wi-fi and phone.
Still contains Samsung's excellent Launcher program.
Time will tell if this upgrade improves battery life. |

| The "storage" portion I described is persistent storage. It comes out of the original 80 mb of safe storage available in WM 2003 SE. I suspect a lot of folks forgot the i730 originally released already specced for WM5.0. The late availability of that OS forced Samsung to fall back to WM2003SE to get the phone to market in a reasonable timeframe last June. |
