Yes, it is unlikely that this phone will ever come to USA or Europe - as it was with former Pocket PC phones from dallab (that didn't go on sale outside of Asia), although it has small size, built-in Wi-Fi and EDGE...

You see, VIPN of Swiss has already selected this device (but under another brand) for its VoIP network.

You have already mentioned it here: http://msmobiles.com/news.php/4975.html
So this way, or another AXIA 308 / Dallab DX8(?) will eventually show up in Europe. At least, in Switzerland. |

Well, Switzerland is not in European Union and what I meant was: some distributors or operators that would offer this phone in several countries in EU (European Union) and USA. |

So, you were talking politics (EU) and I was talking geography (Europe), but it is not all so much important.
It is because Dallab has adopted successful marketing model of HTC, very much praised by MS Mobiles. From now on Dallab is an OEM-maker of Windows Mobile devices for other brands.
On 17th of February Dallab signed an OEM agreement with Fifth Media Sdn Bhd (owner of AXIA brand). And Dallab expects that this would bring Dallab DX8 to "Germany, Latin America and other selected parts of the world".
So if AXIA 308 proves to be successful and Dallab has capabilities to develop new smartphones/communicators rapidly, then we would have more choice. |

Correct, you may now even preorder it for 799 CHF. It will definitely be available in the (geographical) Europe
Actually looking forward a lot for this piece of HW... finally something that looks better than Atom to me
