Close, but half-true as usual - the Palm Treo 700W was built by HTC - it was designed by Palm.
This is a lot of crying about nothing. When the 700w is set up like all the other PPCs on Verizon (i.e. time is not synched from the wireless network), there's no problem. When you use the (wholly unique in Verizon PPCs) Treo 700W network time set, there's a bug that messes up the time. Simply deselect the feature and it behaves like all the other PPCs. No big woop. |

during launch of Treo 700w CEO of Palm admitted that HTC helped also in designing, not just manufacturing - listen to it in podcast here:

... and it sounded like HTC designed it and Palm only adapted the software to add some new features like answering by SMS for incoming call, etc. Palm is too small company to design wholly hardware of mobile phones on their own. |

Isn't the calendar app in the Treo 700w (and all WM devices) written by MS. Wouldn't other devices have this same bug? Why the continued attacks Palm if it probably has nothing to do with their code? Did you do any research into this?
I took the 15 seconds to look at the calendar on my WM smartphone. I have a re-occurring meeting each week. When I scroll back one week (prior to last night's daylight savings time), the meeting that starts at 10:00 is shown as starting at 9:00.
Looks like there is some issues in Microsoft's calendar app in regard to viewing appointments on the other side of the daylight savings time switch.
Conclusion: MSMobiles dislikes the Palm Treo and will do anything to discredit it. |

Helping in the design is not the same as designing it (half-truth). Handspring originally designed the Treo 180, 300, 600 without any outside help and they were a lot smaller than Palm. Think Outside is also a small company, but they design hundreds of items for other companies (and themselves). It appears you have an over-inflated sense of what it takes to design these things. Perhaps you are confusing manufacture with design - in that case, you might be correct. |
