Since manufacturers of several smartphones (like Motorola Q or Samsung i320) and Pocket PC phones (like E-TEN G500 or HP iPAQ hw6515) nowadays prefer to place in them some other features (like QWERTY keyboard or bu...

I'm sorry but how exactly is Spectec's slow web server a disadvantage of the wifi card? Why haven't you mentioned anything about it's performance? Does it drain the battery of a device quicker than built in wifi chips? Does it transfer data faster than built in wifi chips? Is it's range better than built in wifi chips? How do you expect to write a complete review when you've only had the thing one day? You haven't even mentioned the fact that it doesn't work with smartphones
A few pictures and some comments can hardly be called a review _________________ My views are my own and are in no way connected to any site i may be associated with |

slow server = slower support
regarding drain on battery etc: I will test it more and extend this review with this information.
thank you for your remarks! |

Yeh Spectec's website is awful. If you use Firefox you'd have trouble finding the SDW-820 (full size SD WiFIi) drivers because the page doesn't display. That card had a bunch of problems like if it was connected to a network the PDA's power settings were ignored and it wouldnt power off automatically, also if you inserted the card every so often the device would lock up, another prob was it would stop working altogether and the only way to fix it was to delete all the WZC keys in the registry. I'd be interested to know if these issues are fixed in the new card. _________________ WiFiFoFum Pocket PC Wardriving

well, you are speaking about wholly different card, and I really need some more long-term testing before I would express such judgements.
Lack of utility for Wi-Fi and instead relying on built-in Windows Mobile 5.0 featuers is also a bit dissapointing.
Anyway: please let us keep it real: this mini-SD Wi-Fi card is THE ONLY WI-FI CARD IN MINI-SD FORMAT so if somebody has mini-SD card slot only in his/her phone (and no built-in Wi-Fi) then this card is THE ONLY solution to get Wi-Fi.
when it comes to full size SD Wi-Fi cards - there are plenty of them and then one can easily compare features and stability... |

Just in case your device supports SDIO in Mini-SD, which is not the case with iPaq 6510/6515.
You still have the possibility to use full SD Wi-Fi card.
Still, mentioning this iPaq is, to least say, confusing...

| Hi there, I have a question. Will the Wi-Fi card work smartphones with Window 2003 OS, e.g. Samsung i300x? |

no, because they don't have miniSD card slot but just microSD card slot! miniSD cards are too big for microSD slot. Sorry. |
