I've been looking forward to this phone, but I'm now disappointed. I don't want to be negative, but there are three things I just fail to understand:
1. Why would any manufacturer use WM Smartphone instead of WM Pocket PC Phone version in any phone with this form factor (with full keyboard)? It just seems so silly. With this form factor, I expect the additional mobile office benefits of Pocket PC Phone version and the additional ergonomic benefits of a stylus!
2. How come no one ever launches an AZERTY version of their QWERTY products? France was going to be the first country that Samsung launched the SGH-i320. But in France (and in Belgium, where I live) the AZERTY keyboard is used. Can it really be so much trouble and expense for a manufacturer to create an AZERTY version of their product?
3. Where's the wheel? My thumb wants a nice little wheel, not a rocker. Will the Samsungs, HPs, Motorolas, and HTCs of this world please take note!
Still waiting for the ideal device... |

I have a good news (I'm french too) : there will be an AZERTY keyboard for the french market, I saw it on a picture in the french Samsung brochure in an SFR shop.
I'm still waiting for the ideal device too : for me the problem with this phone is the lack of WIFI. I don't undestand this. I was interested in buying this phone but without WIFI I won't. I will keep my Qtek 8310 a little longer until Samsung and others understand that in 2006 smartphones without WIFI and 3G are out ! |
