How come Palm Inc is not embarassed by releasing a smartphone with inferior hardware features and touting it as the biggest invention since sliced bread? Why nobody sees, that king is naked?

yes, it is but it is not available without subscription and with the cheapest subscription it costs 170 + 12*17 pounds = 370 pounds = 540 euro = 700 USD
... what are prices comparable to HTC TyTN and the same or higher than HTC Hermes on subscriptions. |

strange but true, this time I must agree with you...the lack of wi-fi makes it quite a looser to my eyes... |

Um, YES IT IS. Listen to interview of a Palm spokesperson. I would think they are more knowledgeable about their product than you are.

no, it is not, that guys that you quote don't know, they are just guessing "we are told" etc...
if it would have HSDPA Palm and Vodafone would mention it for sure, because Vodafone invested a lot of $$$ in HSDPA and Vodafone needs HSDPA phones badly! a lot! |

First, the Palm spokesman in the interview said it was upgradable.
Second, how do you account for some of the earlier Hermes devices (O2 trion) being released with only UMTS and HTC mentioning that they are updateable to HSDPA?

where is URL to this spokesmen's interview?
regarding Hermes: everybody knew that it has HSDPA - I knew it before it was officially announced from the leaks where HSDPA was clearly mentioned. |

Guys, I spent two weeks with the device (review at www.pocketinfo.nl), and have kept in close contact with my Palm Account Manager discussing my findings. At various moments throughout this period, he has even gone to the developers themselves to have them provide input on my questions.
The bottom line is: Yes, HSDPA ready, activated through future software update.
(I have yet to obtain confirmation about the flavour though (1.8mbps vs 3.6mbps), but rumour has it it will be 3,6mbps ..... therefore to be continued) |
