Dopod's manager has just spilled his guts about HTC's real actions behind the scenes, and it came out:

Does this mean HTC's going to snub Palm and UT Starcom as well?

Did I-Mate get its ROMs from HTC and if so is that the reason why we are without a ROM update since February for the K-JAM?

C'mon...calling it "betrayal" is a bit melo-dramatic. It's just business.

By the way, you never answered my question as to why your site is down half the time...

Possibly, as it certainly effects HP. Cool

There's just too much confusion and lack of process within the engineering part of the company to get things done properly or/and on-time. Sorry ! Sad

It stands to reason that companies would want to distance themselves from i-mate actually. Their theif CPO, Cristiano Pierry, was finally fired for embezzling over $200k during his first year of emploi w/ i-mate. I understand charges have already been filed against him. It serves him right. He just bought his first house, too. Justice! HTC dumps i-mate as well?! They're probably tired of the CEO's xxxxx attitude. All this and we just moved to a newer, bigger office in Redmond's Opportunity Building, too! I hope this brings i-mate down. All us "internals" have known that the current management (including the recently fired Brazilian criminal, Pierry) was driving this company into the ground as they have done with EVERY SINGLE venture before this sinking ship. Us left are feverishly trying to get out and onto somewhere else before we're sacked! I've had my fill of constant lies and mismanagement by my superiors... Cool

...all the stealing and stuff. Those are heavy charges to make against someone. But I do know (back on topic) that i-mate never lived up to the promise of their exceptional service and customer loyalty and all that. They don't like the US market and treat the Latin Americans like they're dirt. The Dubai call center doesn't answer when you try to get your i-mate fixed or they just blow you off.
One of the guys in the company told me the CEO hates americans -- thinks they're a bunch of morons. But not so moronic that he won't happily take their money.

Want to say that i-mate does a great job in my part of the world, Norway. Great support from norwegians sitting in Norway. It takes seconds from I call to they pick up the phone, they do detailed research on complex problems regarding our company have with devices and the problems I have experienced on my i-mate devices. Once I had to send one of my i-mate devices to the norwegian repairing center, and there was some problems - they was in contact with i-mate, the company repairing of i-mate devices is outsourced to, the company importing i-mate devices to norway and the repairing center. They have given me and my company the best support I have got - and I have had many devices up through the years as I work in the telecom business. They have their own local web-site for support and questions are answered quickly. By the way, i-mate makes their own ROMs. The difference between for instance former Qtek and i-mate ROMs here is the Extended ROM (there is probably more differences - but one pick a brand often due what tools are included on it - and software (tools, games, etc) is put in Extended ROM). As I've understood the soon-to-come i-mate SPL is manufactured by TechFaith - which is believed to have produced the Samsung SGH-i320 and other known phones. I look forward to see what i-mate presents during the start of the next year. I think there will come devices that will compete with the latests HTC devices then.

I know Jim personally and am not sure if he hates Americans or not. I haven't seen him around non-Americans much.

Customer service may suck because we usually only have one or two people working at times in tech support in the corp office in Dubai.

The key here is "company." Jim is much, much more interested in Enterprise customers than individual customers. That's been our software side of the company's focus almost since we opened up in Redmond last April.
