Sighted at Hungarian website, the Motorola Q Pro (of code name Motorola Q Norman), looks like the the phone that Motorola will release in Europe for UMTS/GSM networks - a successor to American Motorola Q that works ...

One of the ugliest phones I have ever seen. Q and RAZR look really good, but what is this? How a Motorola phone look like this? Maybe they decided to make a phone without using designers just engineers? This is almost uglier than Nokia N61.

Looks much better than the tinkertoy that Verizon curently has. Afterall, it's intended for adult use. |

Those passing universally dismissive judgment on looks alone, based upon a 2-dimensional pic, should be recognized for what they are. |

in mobile phone industry looks are very important because mobile phone is not just a tool but also fashion element that needs to be stylish.
of course to big extend looks are a matter of taste |

The enterprise environment, which is what the Q Pro is intended for, is less concerned about fashion statements and more interested about productive up-time. Kids who live off of Slingbox need not apply. |

The "enterprise environment"? What kind of meaningless label is that? Next you will be telling people to think outside the "box".
All you saying is - forget about the looks, its a phone aimed at the business user who is only concerned about features. Are you incapable of using plain English instead of spewing up a procession of words derided in most quarters as "wank words"?
The business user is a lot more discerning these days. Form factor and looks play an important part of the decision making process. Look at Blackberry, its phones paid no attention to looks before. Now they have the "Pearl". Still aimed at the business user but the advertising is 50% about its looks and 50% about features.
Slingbox?? Do you even know what it is?? |

My, what a bickering little dweeb!
Let's look at Blackberry, shall we. What a failure it surely is by producing pure business machines. In order to diversify and obtain new markets, it has begun to produce consumer handsets, such as the Pearl, with others currently in the works. The enterprise environment does not have any desire for cameras, ITunes, or the like. BB's business handsets in the enterprise environment will always have full QWERTY keyboards as shown in the 8700 models, as opposed to SureType, which is a marginal player. That is not to say that RIM will only produce QWERTY keyboards on business models. The upcoming 8800 model begins to blur the lines, but it's guaranteed that few, if any, businesses will move to it. The consumer market will take a shine to it, however.
RIM simply will not force unacceptable changes onto their base market. Why should they? That's economic suicide.
I have little concern over how you define my responses. Wank-off to them if you like, since you speak for "most quarters" |

"... however this phone is doomed to fail probably ... "
"Motorola releases too little too late."
Goodness, there should be some way to block out your ridiculous commentary. You look at an engineering prototype (with the specs unconfirmed) and determine that it's doomed to fail? Motorola has released too little too late? As if the phone having a 5mp camera instead of 2mp would somehow up the chances of success? Or should Motorola have given up and not released a GSM smartphone competitor at all?
I could go further into explaining how asinine the idea is but I'll let MSMobile's record speak for itself. Afterall, according to you guys Motorola was never going to release the Q in the first place. |

That keyboard looks like a pain to type on, actually. That's what's most off-putting to me.
Ofcourse, it's hard to judge from pictures alone, but small keys that all seem to be level with one another? *shudder* |
