Previously we have published review of UBiQUiO 501 aka i-mate JAQ3 and now, several months after this phone has been available as "UBiQUiO 501" it is also being released by i-mate. Not only claims of i-mate about ...

Played with one on their stand.

The wheel is real, goes all the way round, and is Action when you press it in. Also the device is quad-band EDGE. The UBiQUiO version is not edge and only triband.

The OMAP 750 chip in the UBiQUiO cannot support EDGE, and is only a triband chip. Only the OMAP 850 supports quad band and EDGE.

I hope the i-mate version has a better rom than the UBiQUiO 501 one. I love the design but glad that I didn't make the move. A lot of people bought the UBiQUiO 501 has reported bad experience with the machine.

yes, i-mate is testing more and I also hope that i-mate's version is better tested and errors and problems of UBiQUiO 501 are not present in i-mate version! It's good that UBiQUiO 501 was released however - so now we have some reference for comparisons with i-mate JAQ3! ... and i-mate has a chance to show whether it really provides something more (testing/support) than just sticking "i-mate" label on phones made by others...

JAQ3 costs AED2099
Has a REAL SCROLL WHEEL incl "CLICK" selection...

Is available now in the market

Played with one yesterday at Gitex... Sweet but only "ok" ... but the big NEWS is right in thier own backyard HTC is now selling thier products in Dubai via PLUG INS... word is only english today but next month full arabic Version...

So faced with the JAQ3 or a HTC S620... Guess which one I bought......to replace my NOKIA-E61

Had a play around with an SPL (AED1299) but the HTC won hands down...

Also was told by various people also 3G version available as of January....

well it was keep brain and buy S620 or remove brain and buy a JAQ3...

whilst the JAQ3 was "Nice/Ok" it has a way to go before I would say its at the same TOUCH quality as the HTC...

these boys have learnt alot... S620 = super device..

they have been able to recreate the smartphone I know in my head that its nothing different than my SP5m with a qwerty keyboard... but OMG !!! did they ever do it well.... cant wait till jan for the 3G version... breeze with a QWERTY...sweet...

First M$ phone that everyone at work wanted to HOLD.... Rolling Eyes
