Let's face it: not everybody needs 3G (UMTS/HSDPA) connectivity, particularly if unlimited flat rate tariffs are not available... You can think of HTC P4350 as successor to low-end HTC Wizard rather than successor ...

Are we Verizon Wireless users ever going to get a new CDMA/EVDO device out of HTC again?

yes yes, see here:

for more infos

but of course GSM/UMTS/HSDPA technologies are operational in whole world so it pays more for HTC to invest in more widespread tech...

Why are you in such a hurry? Were the XV6700 and Treo 700w really that useful to you? Confused HTC hasn't put out a good CDMA phone since the XV6600.

True, but no one else has put out any either. Right now I have the Samsung I730, so I have not used either of the above devices because I felt neither warranted upgrading too, but I have had my Samsung for it seems coming up on two years and I am ready for something new.

I cannot believe that the Treo has done as lackluster as it has. You would think with the brand name that the TREO has, that Palm would come up with some great accessories like Compaq did for the first iPaqs. Get everyone good and hooked on their devices. I would go out and buy a Treo if I could get a CF sleeve for it like the old iPaqs.

More like 18 mos. The Samsung SCH-i730 was released by Verizon in May 2005. It remains the best PPC Phone in Verizon's stable. Wait for the SCH-i760 (Link). It's due for release at Verizon in February...21 months after the i730 was released.

Same specs as the 730, but with microsd instead of regular sd, but it does add 802.11 g. Verizon will disable the camera and dork up the phone, just like they did the 730. Not much of an upgrade. The only reason I would even possible upgrade would be the new operating system that is suppose to release in Feb as well.

I think they learned their lesson as the 700W, XV6700, and Moto Q all show - the camera will probably stay in - and DUN will be available...for a price.
