usually QR codes are side by side with regular bar codes, but QR codes are much better readible and some newspapers or other places don't bother with bar codes and publish only QR codes! |

Sadly, I can't get this to work on my T-Mobile Vario II, even though I downloaded and installed the Hermes CAB. It just doesn't seem to want to open from the application browser.
This is my first Windows Mobile device: am I missing something? Everything else I've installed has worked.
Oh, also, we had a ton of fun at work with the Nokia N93, which has an application built-in for reading these barcodes. The best part is that the app is just called 'barcode' and so I spent most of an evening late shift trying to scan the barcodes on cans of coke before we realised it was QR codes. |

I don't think it's a problem of your device, since it(QuickMark-Dopod-Hermes-v3_2r1968.CAB) didn't work on my Vario II either...
I have to down-grade to previous version(Quickmark CHT9000-v3r1223.CAB), then it start to work well again.

Cool - now it runs and displays some stuff, but the text isn't readable (shows as a row of boxes, I'm guessing that this is because it's Japanese characters and it doesn't appear to do anything, even when I've got a test code perfectly in the 'sights'. What do you do to get it to 'scan'? |

in my case it suffices that I move camera near the code and it scans automatically! Please try the code in the news item! It should read "http://msmobiles.com" if scanned correctly! |

It's not doing that - possibly because it's an older version of the software? |

it's doing it - automatically - in my Lobster smartphone with version 3.2 of ths software. Yes, maybe in old version it was not working so... I don't remember. Maybe you should just try to get version 3.2 to work by trying out various CABs? |

What about shotcode http://www.shotcode.com ?
Getjar.com is using it for distributing software directly to the phone. |

It's not that important to me! I'll bookmark it and check back on a later version and see if it works. :o) |

Hi, I believe you can use QuickMark-DS-v3_2r1933.CAB instead of Hermes one, since the CHT 9000 v3 is working for Dopod 838pro. The DS stands for DirectShow version which is a generic framework for most windows mobile devices. _________________ Rex's blah blah blah |

Awesome, that worked. I can now proceed to annoy the N93 users with this once I'm back at work :oD |
