He welcomed iPhone nicely .
As I am seeing it all others:Nokia/symbian phones,WM phones are trying different alteration of phone to find out good/important features for different markets... but thats like litle kid trying to fit square to triangle shaped hole...he has to turn it several times to realize that there is other object/feature available.
iPhone brings imporant new features which are not that visible but have great impact for users:
OSX which is just stripped from unnecessary running code which brings full blown Web Browser with javascript full SSL&flash etc.. No more compromises :you got PC in your pocket. This is beneficial to Coders as users. Interview guy said that they tried to fit PC in small package.. but they had to adjust OS and therefore coding for it which brought limitation for hardware of that time IMHO they failed to forecast how HW will evolve and that some coding they did is useless now.
iPhone has tiger 3D interface ... think vista in your phone.. thats advanced and its their first phone.
Plus i dont understand why others cant ged sleek/simple nice design of mobile. All those buttons make me sick ...
iPhone is first mobile with high percentage of ppl like it from first moment based on my biased observation. |

Not really considering Apple won't be letting any other companies develope for their phone platform.

I agree, this is a biased observation. From my observation, which is also biased (but not towards MS or Apple, just my own opinions and preferences), I've seen lots of people get excited about lots of phones, such as the Q, Blackberry Pearl, Blackjack, T-Mobile MDA (yes, that was me, and I still love it), etc. Considering the amount of fanboys that Apple has, they could have unveiled a standard-type phone with nothing new to offer and fanboys/girls across the globe would have still swooned. Let's face it, if Steve Jobs pooped in a box and sold it for $199, Mac fanboys/girls would line up around the block to buy it. They would dedicate websites to it and annoy their co-workers endlessly about it ("Hey, I just bought the new iPoop. Wanna sniff, it's really sleek and groundbreaking").
After reading that, you probably think I'm Anti-Mac, but far from it. I own an Apple MacBook (so does my wife) and I bought my wife an iPod for Christmas. I have nothing against Mac or Apple Inc, as they are now known. My problem is with the Mac fanatics, blindly buying whatever Apple puts out and automatically degrading anything that any other company does. It's cool if Apple does one thing, but if MS would have done the exact same thing, Apple fanatics would be the first to degrade them. You Mac fanatics need to learn to think for yourselves, not think what Apple tells you to.
