"EVDO, what makes Wi-Fi unnecessary"?
Of course! I have my own EVDO base station connected to my VDSL line at home. Don't you all? _________________ /b |

I couldn't disagree more. I just received my 820, and I'm thrilled to death with it. While this device won't win any beauty awards, it really packs a nice punch for its form factor. And that is what the 820 is about . . . form. After having used almost exclusively full PPC devices for the many years (with a brief excursion to the MPx 200 and 220), it is really a pleasure carrying around something this small and lightweight.
And I really don't feel that I've given up much in exchange for downsizing, other than the QWERTY keyboard. It has a nice processor (the same as the Q and the Blackjack) and is well-configured in terms of memory (64/128). In terms of connectivity, it does lack WiFi, but it certainly makes up for that with EVDO. Remember, this is the first ever WM flip phone to feature 3G data.
I'm well aware that the 820 won't be for everyone, but for someone who doesn't want to be carrying around a brick, it really is an excellent device. |
