Unfortunately you have to support all of those devices and make sure any problems encountered once they are in the wild are resolved.
Something they clearly aren't doing very well. |

support of ETEN devices is provided by distributors not by ETEN. Which distributor has dissapointed you, Sir gilesjuk ? |

Eten is just the same responsible for it's reputation, and cannot leave that in the hands of distributors. What is being advocated here? An Eten device would have some bugs but unless the distributors ask for a ROM update Eten will not deliver - and in the meantime the reputation of Eten for poor device quality grows. As I had mentioned in another thread, take a look on www.eten-users.net for the number of problems encountered with the initial batches of the X500d the slowness of Eten to issue fixes or ROM updates.
On a separate note, whilst I recognise the valuable contribution by msmobiles to the community, although the word 'Sir' is not directed to me I find it patronising and out of place. |

gilesjuk has posted in past several valueable comments so he deserves "Sir" but if it offended anybody then I apologize!
Regarding ETEN-s support issues - only publication of problems can help. I have some ideas regarding it but it in meantime: thanks for the feedback! |

I misinterpreted since I was not aware of that, and I too apologise. It goes to show that we must all give second thoughts to what we write. |

My job is support and development, customers call up with problems and I resolve them, config changes or code changes. So I am well aware of how you are supposed to treat customers. Customer care is important, bad customer service gets you a bad reputation and such information spreads quite easily on the net.
Unfortunately, Eten have chosen to not care about the problem the X500 and M700 have with T-Mobile/Virgin in the UK.
T-Mobile has the only decent flat rate GPRS tariff in the UK and so an Eten that doesn't work with T-Mobile just simply won't get purchased by heavy mobile net users.
I suggest you read these threads to see the general view about this problem:
