it's a bit disingenuois to suggest Microsoft removed this on a whim there were real reasons of security why they removed it, personally even though it makes life a bit harder if you are syncing with your outlook client it was a good idea if it was so flawed.
the suggestion was that they couldn't squeeze it into the next release so binned it.

of course they are - reasons of security ALWAYS exist but why not to switch it off by default and make it possible to switch it on for advanced users? |
