| I don't get it. Palm is expecting users to carry a smartphone, then this Foleo thing. And users these days also have laptop. There are just so many redundancy. I think I would go for a good smart phone and with a light laptop, or just get the HTC Shift or HTC Advantage if I just want to have one device. |

The release of the Foleo has one of the biggest yawn factors I've ever seen in a pre-announced, over-hyped product. _________________ good titles are misleading!

| What a FIASCO! Carrying that Foleo thing plus a treo is ilogical! Think in a Imate JASJAR, you have a full qwerty keyboard plus email, office, UMTS videocalls...all in one in a single package with WM with tons of applications...Palm boys are absolutely out of this time and markets... |

I am a bit surprised by the reactions to the Foleo.
How many of you have prepared a powerpoint presentation in any of the existing windows mobile devices? How many have edited a real word document in any of them for more than 5 minutes?
I have tried most of them and they are pretty useless for any real work.
The Foleo could be a perfect device for just that. I am not looking for something that will replace my laptop, but for many trips I will not need my laptop anymore (and I travel too much...) |

The only advantage of this product is the availability of the source. Palm will have to make available the GPL code they used.
If Palm has do things right it will mean you can install a wide variety of open source applications by compiling them for this device. If they've not done it right it will be closed and no additional apps will be installable. |

I do a lot more than surf the web and type a couple emails when I'm on the road. The additional 1.5 pounds my laptop weighs is worth the additional:
- 100GB storage
- 1.5GHz speed
- 3D graphics
- Compatibility with a LOT of way more useful software
- Same run time (5 hours)
Heck, even watching the occasional video is a nice option...something the (WT)Foleo can't seem to do. _________________ good titles are misleading!

Today I must repeat my last post: What a FIASCO! The Palm boys have changed their mind 'cause this thing is completely useless nowadays...carrying 2 devices in 2007 must be only if you have 4 arms. |
