Lack of 3G and Windows Mobile 6 will not convince users to buy this phone...

I don't think i'll find myself buying another I-Mate device anytime soon. My first and current (and all in between) devices have been and are I-Mate. But since they're relationship with HTC is over no more i-mate for me!

Kaiser is next on the list... "i got money in da bank" waiting for that device to drop..

I think imate is in deep S**t without paddles. When imate announced their ultimate series I was excited but it appears this will be just another vapor ware. One can assess their capabilities simply from the fact that for the past two months they have stated on their website that an updated ROM for the Jasjam (my current device) will be available shortly but to date no signs. I don't expect that to be a WM6 but at least an AKU 3 should have been available by now.

As another poster said no more imate for me as well and me too looking eagerly for the Kaiser.

Regards

Most probably JAMA will have free WM6 upgrades. The Samsung 300 MHz CPU is quite nice I think. Those that has not understood device vs market should take 2 seconds :

Ultimate is for those who wants to spend more money for a top spec device. In some areas where i-mate operates the Ultimate is the devices that will be sold most of. The prices regarding to UK web-sites seems allthought quite good. Typically these are the devices for leaders/administration group

JAMA is device(s) that will be low/middle spec and for those who perhaps will have a smartphone-type PDA. Seems to me from rumours on internet that this is a small sized handy PDA.

Other series will fill other market needs.

So, I guess those who complain about JAMA vs Ultimate...what device do you want to buy - in general ? You want the best tech spec or do you need to buy 500 devices and therefore think money ? Huh ?

All that said, i-mate have been very quiet the last year. Not having the best communication with the customers and clubimate being a zombie-site. Hopefully Ultimate will not be too delayed..
