| I am tempted to buy one and have it shipped to Europe (Switzerland to be exact). Question is would it work on the European UMTS and HSDPA networks? Anyone read the specs or knows? |

| According to PDAdb.net, the Cavalier supports UMTS 850/1900/2100, so it should be OK to use in Europe. |

I believe its the same phone as the Dopod C730
http://www.asia.htc.com/asia/products/smart_c730/smart_c730_spec.html#topa
Quad band and UMTS 2100 so Europe is fine (Asia uses the same frequency for UMTS)
Only problem with the phone is the very poor battery life (lucky to get a day on UMTS). You have been warned. Hoping they get an update out soon. |

I have been using the dopod C730 for more than 2 months now. I use pushmail (Exchange Server) and the battery-life is approximately 1 day on UMTS.
Otherwise most amazing phone! |

Battery life is much better if handset is forced to use 2G or 3G UMTS connections only instead of AUTO ( default). constant switching from 3G to 2G and backwards is killing the battery life. Also, in 2G mode only battery life is very good. at least 3 days from single full charge. _________________ Securing the future of communication. www.securegsm.com |

I just bought the HTC 630 running Japan's Softbank network (WCDMA). It is my first Smartphone.
I'm basically very impressed with all the fuctions.
Only complaint would be the battery life. So far you'd be lucky to make a day with this. |
