While Microsoft still is selling more licenses for Windows Mobile than in previous periods the tendency is clear - the growth is slowing down and is dangerously moving into direction of stagnation:

Ahm, everything that comes after that is more illusion, isn't it
| Quote: | | It is possible because despite increased sales, the overall size of the global smartphone market increases. |
Hahahaha, what a funny nonsense! Firstly, "Mobile and Embedded Devision" doesn't equal Smartphones. Secondly, where is the comparison to overall market development?
| Quote: | | Entrance of Apple into mobile phone industry practically means that global market share of Windows Mobile in smartphone market is doomed to fall in next years. |
So, reason for the wrongfully concluded slow down is Apple iPhone which was released when the financial year was over? And why please "doomed to fall"? Look what Windows Mobile 6 has to offer over the iPhone - which I happily acknowledge to be a sexy device. ut when it comes to usability, communication, ... Windows Mobile offers by far more. So why please doomed then?
| Quote: | | On the other hand mobile operators, that are excluded from exclusive deals with Apple have additional motivation to offer appealing handsets, what may be a good opportunity for Windows Mobile phones! However this window of opportunity will close in few years when these exclusivity deals will expire... |
Ah, not I got it. The reason for the apparant slow down in FY07 which never actually happened in the first place is a window of opportunity offered by Apple today for such customers who don't want a device that was never available in the period mentioned before. But now that it's in the market it offers a opportunity for Windows Mobile to get their bad results from last year which were actually good results up after all.
Can I have some of your drugs as well _________________ Cheers

Just look at the scene. O2 has launched two great models, namely, flame and atom life, but, both at stupid, very high prices. Also, there has been almost NO progress from imate this year. Last year, they sold thousands of JasJams, Jasjars and Kjams.
There has been nothing great from HTC side too this year. 'Touch' was still backed by weak OMAP processor. 'OMNI' pics are still computer-generated and not real.
blah blah blah.. |

That's right! First few years the products of HTC where very innovative. This year they introduces weak models with an oldfashioned 2 Megapixel camera an a 220 Mhz-processor. HTC wake up!
It's not 2005 anymore!!!
Kind regards Richard Otto |
