Edward,
I presume you are talking USIM card in order to use the 3G/3.5G network. Can we use it on Notebook for web surfing? Thanks.

yes, the same Vodafone pre-paid SIM card (USIM) can be used in notebooks with websessions, I use it sometimes with my HSDPA ExpressCard and here is a screen shot to prove it:

I have just bought an LG KS20 on Vodafone D2 Germany. I have a pre-paid CallYa card and am currently on the Happy Live UMTS tariff.

Internet connection working OK via wap and within the Vodafone live! portal. However, I've tried setting up my e-mail address (I'm on my own, so no company network) on Outlook, but when I try to send / receive I get a notification to check my data transmission (German DFÜ remote data transmission) and proxy server settings and try again, as no connection can be made from that point. When it feels like it, Vodafone also sends me an sms to tell me to use access point event.vodafone.de.

I've tried what as far as I can tell are the right settings for both wap.vodafone.de and event.vodafone.de

wap Proxy 139.7.29.1 (it doesn't work with the 0's in) port/Anschluss 80 (tried 8080 and 9201 unsuccessfully)

event Proxy 139.7.29.17:80

It's possible to open Internet Explorer and get on to the vodafone live! page through event.vodafone.de - but the connection is soon killed. Similarly, the connection on wap is killed if I try to find the settings for my Outlook address(es) automatically.

This article / forum is a real find for me because it's the best luck I've had since standing in two Vodafone stores for hours!! I hope somebody can help me make some progress here. Very Happy Thanks a lot, A
