Since when a small British retailer is speaking on behalf of phone manufacturer? Apparently since recently:

Drawing the "conclusion" (\q) that a company is likely to face bankruptcy just from a statement by an online retailer (on his own website) is a bit audacious, I'd say.

Let's assume wiseacre goes on vacation and there are no posting for 2 days or so.

I now write on my blog that msmobiles is likely to lose readers, hence income from advertorial customers are dropping and so I could "conclude" msmobiles might face bankruptcy soon.

I can well assume that you might advise your lawyer to send me a nice letter because of my "conclusion", based on my "very" material proof.

Well, if a forum like msmobiles gets hold of a new device not even on the market, finds out that this device is crap and issues a "warning" not to buy this device, I'd say: This is really something courageous !
Any company could threaten to take legal action even in this case, but as a customer I have been warned and that's why I appreciate such stories.

However to take an article like the one quoted in your posting (a) as evidential proof and (b) even more conclude this company is likely to face bankruptcy is nothing courageous but just speculation based on hear-say.
(You did not comment btw the recommendation by Clove to take the Siemens Loox 830 as an alternative to the i-mate Ultimate. In fact this is a more than ridiculous recommendation...)

I very much hope that i-mate - although I clearly said before that I dislike their policy of announcing "breath-taking" devices and then postponing them indefinitely - won't go bankrupt so that I might get the chance to buy the 8150, which - hopefully - may be a very good WM6 smartphone.

If the news on Clove's website is true then Imate have dump the better products from their line-up.

I quite fancied the 7150 or the 9150 to replace my rapidly approaching 2 year old Universal (2 years in Nov)

Indeed, 7150 was a much needed communicator style phone. HTC Universal was too big and Nokia's E90 is late and had had mixed reviews.

We will soon see the 2 Ultimates 6150/8150 on the market. I am starting to get fed up with the conclusions on msmobiles.com about "this" and "that" company. Often the articles contains some true facts, based on rumours, and then the article ends with a quick conclusion - for instance in this case. It is not a professional way of presenting information, althought it perhaps raises some discussions. It seems almost like msmobiles.com is in war with the companies

a) please note "rumor" in the title

b) regarding conclusions: sorry for them being a bit harsh, but msmobiles.com is a tabloid

news from ZDNet : here
Quote:
I-mate announced several new devices that would be coming in 2007 back in February and many sites are now reporting that three of the five models may have been canceled. I just confirmed with my i-mate source that this news is not true, was based on a resellers information, and that there are actually six Ultimate devices scheduled for release. The current plan is to launch 4 at GITEX and the other 2 in early 2008. There was no news on pricing or availability so we will still have to wait to see when and where these devices show up.

I have heard from i-mate - directly talking with them during conference - person to person - that i-mate Ultimate are coming August 2007... but in meantime situation of i-mate deteriorated and I really don't know what to trust...

Gitex - probably 2 devices 6150/8150 for release. The 3 other (5150/7150/9150) has (most probably) vanished into the blue sky. I guess 8th of september as first Ultimate devices.

yes, I remember that i-mate was always announcing new things at Gitex trade show because i-mate is located in Dubai where Gitex takes place. However there is big difference between announcing and beinig commercially available for purchase!

Yes, I really hate the abuse of "launch/release". In my opinion i-mate should have called the show-off on 3GSM in Barcelone something like "sneak-peek" - not "launch". But I am very certain (!) that 6150/8150 is available from Gitex. Not certain at all when the other devices will arrive, but assume winter/new year.
