Why would Samsung have an "problem" with this device? The Blackjack and Dash are also smartphones and have been very successful for their respective carriers (at least here in the US).

If they are, it's only because of the success of the iPhone. However, not everybody wants or needs WM5 pro. As matter of fact, there many time WM doesn't make for the greatest phone interface. Smartphones will continue to sell well.
