While other retailers still have it "coming soon", "available in October 2007" or "shippig in estimated 4 days", one retailer (in UK) has this phone already not just on sale, not just available for pre-order, ...

I cancelled my Expansys preorder yesterday morning as they didnt have them it stock and instead placed an order with DeviceWire because of this post and their website said next day delivery pre-noon. Our Office Manager rang them today to confirm it was coming and they said my delivery was "down for Saturday". Ironically, Expansys got stock yesterday at midday and shipped all pre-orders for delivery today.
We order 10 phones a month here for testing our mobile trading software. This is our first and last order with Device Wire. I guess we paid for lack of loyalty to our regular supplier... |

When I decide which device I want I usually also buy one day and expect to have it delivered next day.

are you saing that Device Wire was out of stock and their website has not reflected this status and kept accepting orders for next day? |

No, I'm not saying that. I understand their system was down for part of yesterday morning so they had to take the payment over the phone which is apparently not normal practice for them at all. The acknowledgement email had a Saturday delivery date despite us expressly asking for next day (as per the promise on the website). Our Office Manager then rang back immediately to change it and was assured it was corrected. She sits opposite me and I was there when she made both calls. Despite this, nothing was changed and the item not shipped to us.
However, we have since had an apology and I should have noted it on here sooner. It was simply an admin mistake - just sods law it was the first time we dealt with them. They were able to ship today for a delivery tomorrow but i had already reordered elsewhere by then. Nevertheless, their response was professional. |
