It looks like it will not be Palm Treo (as it was widely expect because Palm OS version supports this resolution) but Samsung i780 that will be the first Windows Mobile phone with enhanced display resolution of 32...

Here's a side-by-side 320x320 versus 320x240. It does not account for physical screen size, though.

Well the difference _should_ be big, e.g. comparing a standard 320x240 screen to 240x240:-
Notes 100% zoom: 17 lines vs. 11
Notes 75% zoom: 21 lines vs. 14
Excel 100% zoom: 12 rows vs. 7
Excel 75% zoom: 17 rows vs. 10
BUT.. have you noticed how the Start Menu in the video and "photos" totally fills the screen? That shows there is only room for the same number of lines as a 240 screen! Look at the Programs screen in the video. Again, just the same number of rows and icons as 240x240! I've compared these with my Treo 750 and they're just the same. So you're not gaining any extra lines or screen space at all! How crap is that? |
