| The apple iPhone will have very little if any impact on the smartphone or PDA market. Its only got basic phone features and basically an ipod with a revolutionary UI. It is marketed at apple fans and the ipod owners who only use a fone. It is not in competition with windows mobile. The biggest new threat to windows mobile is the linux smartphone market which is growing at a huge rate in china and japan which has a huge influence on the market. While these devices usually can run windows mobile, there are also projects ongoing where you can put linux on many HTC devices. Already linux has twice the market share of windows mobile in the overall phone market with huge backers including motorola who are outside asia. |

Is fascinating how you ignore Symbian, that currently is the world leader in smartphone.
I don't know what will happen in the future, but I think that HTC has to worry much more from Symbian than from iPhone and Palm together.
