Glofiish M800 not only matches specifications of HTC Kaiser (aka HTC TyTN II) but it exceeds these specifications: while they both have HSDPA, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and built-in GPS, the HTC Kaiser has only a Q...

Alas my quest for the perfect PPC continues. While the Eten now offers the VGA screen it lacks in the memory area.

Lately after using the TyTn II I am spoilt by the huge RAM it offers. For me 128MB RAM of the TyTn II as opposed to only 64MB for the Eten is more important than a VGA screen.

If the RAM is 64MB, it is a HUGE letdown for me. These days, when every phone is coming with 128MB RAM, eten should not have rolled out a device with 64MB ram. They came so close of making a perfect device Shocked

64MB seems to be the spec. Seems like a stupid decision given that you need more memory for VGA?

Lets hope the build quality is better than previous products and the software isn't so buggy.

And keep in mind that after a soft reset the X800 only has 18Mb of RAM available, as a result it feels sluggish and you can barely run anything...in comparison the TyTn II has 64Mb available and feels much faster. Apart from looking sharper, not sure what advantage having a VGA screen brings?

I read somewere that the Samsing CPU they are using couldn't handle more than 64Mb of RAM, seems odd...

VGA gives u more! on most emails, u dont need to scroll right to see the whole email! and sufing internet, u seeing more stuffs so u find what u looking for faster! try it with your home pc monitor with the lowest resolution and u will understand why.
i have no problem with only 64mb ram, i can live with that.
isnt all pda and pdaPhone having only 64meg ram for the last 10 years??

Except that you didn't start out with 18Mb available, more like 35Mb, courtesy of PPC2002 vs WM6. Well let us know how it works out for you, you will have been warned Wink

Another problem today with the X800, not enough memory to launch Destinator 7 Sad

I'm not aware of an email app that uses the 640x480 resolution ? Very few do and generally you will get pixel doubling, which is a good thing, because I can barely read the text on my Qtek 9000 in real VGA so I can't imagine what it would look like on a 2.8" screen!

I used to own a ETEN M700, I hated the Send, End, Ok and other button configuration on the the phone, very user unfriendly....and the biggest problem I had with it was that the backlight did not illuminate the Shift or Fn characters... If you had to type an email or a text msg while in your bed at night which i had to do alot of....it was impossible to because you couldn't find the darn comma! or the apostrophe or the other usual characters that you use when typing.

Is there a forum or somthing where we can mention this to ETEN...?
