Handango is a vile organization that is ripping off software developers and through unfair ranking mechanism is pushing more costly applications on top. Furthermore through giving "software for free" to various "...

I've ordered from them in the past as well and still think they are pretty shady.
Especially their "redownload" policy. Having to pay to redownload an application you've already paid for should be criminal. I just got a new Motorola Q9h and am feeling especially prickly about that now.
I'm now very leery of buying any software from anyone that links exclusively to their site. _________________ Aaron J. Walker

Handango is not as evil as you think, you can always uncheck the Redownload option on the order page.
I think the really 'vile organization' is PocketGear (Motricity): developers don't even get a list of customers names or e-mails anymore, just an order ID. I don't know how developers can support their customers if they don't know who they are, as it is very unlikely the customer will remember their order ID after several months! |

Mobile software is offered by many different sites. Now Handango has never wronged me during a transaction, but Mobihand has a better interface in my opinion so that is where I go.
The download protection is ridiculous and the worst part about it is developers have no say in whether it is offered with their software. The company I work for has requested a removal of this option from the shopping cart with our products and they said no. We offer unlimited downloads with any purchase with or without this "Download Protection". It is redundant. |
