Customer Experience
Based on BBB files, this company has an unsatisfactory record with the Bureau due to unanswered complaints. The company has resolved some complaints presented by the Bureau; however, the Bureau did not receive a response to other complaints.
I include my complaint below:
Date 7/15/2005 12:45:52 PM
Primary Complaint Classification: Product Quality
Secondary Complaint Classification: Advertising
Complaint:
This product is supposed to sync my smart phone, an Audiovox SMT 5600 with the calendar, and contact database on my Apple Computer.
I checked with the company before my purchase and was assured it would work with my particular phone.
In fact, it has not worked fully since I bought it and the company has stalled repeatedly when I've asked for tech support, all the while promising tech support in the future. They did send me one bit of technical advice, but the source of this advice was another customer's reply to the company once he had solved a problem on his own. It was not relevant to my problem.
Although I am able to connect via USB and sync my contacts and calendar the following problems exist:
No Bluetooth connectivity.
Does not install applications (One of the advertising points on their website).
File browser stalls when it tries to transfer a file from the phone the computer if the file's permissions are set to be unmodifiable by the user. (the program should give the user an error message, instead it simply stops and stays that way until you closer the browser window)
I have been told by them repeatedly that they intend to help me with this problem, but most recently they have not even been responding to my emails.
I have kept all our correspondence.
Desired Settlement: Other (Requires Explaination)
Settlement Explanation:
I would like the BBB to have this on record for others to see. |
