It looks like Asian-made iPhone clone powered by regular Windows Mobile 6 operating system went on sale in Asia:

I've seen a few of these on a few asian sites. They pretty tempting but since I couldn't easily find some custom roms for them I just can't take that chance.

I spoke to my friendly Microsoft person to see if there was such a device and not a scam and went ahead and bought one. Arrived a few weeks ago and it looks just like an iphone running windows mobile.
I have used an apple iphone before and the windows interface even with touch is a pale limitation. No sooner have you touched an icon using windows mobile you need to use a stylus (provided on the device) or the keypad. No fault of the actually device as it does look cool but the Windows OS is not in the same league as apple. Cheap device though and quick delivery once purchased. |
