It goes without saying that mobile operators (aka wireless carriers) need some phones that could compete with iPhone because only one operator per country got iPhone exclusivity... so it is big business opportunity ...

VGA! That means 4x slower performance! Or have HTC figured out how to write graphics drivers? Can't wait to find out!

what is wrong with you??
if u put 4 people in a car, will it goes 4X slower?? |

No, but the more weight you put in the car the slower it will accelerate.

Also, does VGA displays have an effect on battery life as well?

Totally faulty analogy, which means that you're talking without understanding your subject.
Think on it this way: if you increase the distance you drive your car by four times, it'll take four times longer to get there.
So unless you improve the performance of the car (graphics drivers or graphics hardware in the phone), it'll take longer to reach the destination (refresh the screen).
Do you understand now? |

how is displaying 4X more pixels = driving your car 4times the distance???
if a room has 1 light bult, and another room has 100 bults, will the room with 100 light bults lights up the room 100X later?
