It's good if you dont need more space. Nothing more can be said.
I got a 4gb card for my phone because I didn't want to risk compatibility issues with an 8gb card, but I'm wishing I had gone for the 6 or 8...4 isn't enough for all the games, music, and movies I put on it.... |

Are you nuts or just drinking the cool-aide?
| Quote: | | while nowadays most popular and cost-effective microSD card is just 2GB |
Um...pardon me. A 8gb MicroSD card can be had for 80 US dollars. Sounds cost effective to me.
| Quote: | | another possible place for mechanical failure has been removed - in some phones it is recommended to insert and remove the memory card only once, because if the card is being removed more often (for example for the sake of exchanging data) then the mechanism of the memory card slot is breaking and then one cannot use memory card at all! |
You don't really believe this do you? I have been using Pocket PC's for over seven years now and never had an issue with any of the devices I have owned regarding inserting and removing a memory card.
| Quote: | | users can safely execute programs inside of this phone, without the need to be afraid that all of a sudden, for some reason (mechanical wobbling, software error, power saving function, etc), storage card will be removed (physically or software-wise) and thus execution of programs will be disturbed and some data may be lost (see image above) |
If you're that worried about running an app when taking out a storage card, you should install it to the device storage. Most devices now have many mb's of storage capacity.
Sounds like the cool-aide has been tasted. _________________ JNGold

The Mini-SD slot on my phone has died. A HTC Wizard with no memory is useless, so I'll be getting the Diamond. Expansion would be nice, but millions of iPhone users don't seem to care.
I'll be happy with a working phone over an VERY fragile Mini-SD slot. |

According to HTC official site, there are actually 192 MB RAM. That's should help speed up the phone when running many apps simultaneously. _________________ Proud owner of HTC Touch Diamond and i-mate JASJAM. |

Pre-release pricing for the unlocked GSM Diamond at Mobile Planet and SmartMobileGadgets is around $900. Add a case, extra battery, screen protectors, the nice charger/base, etc, and you're well over $1000.
At that price, without memory expansion, these slick little devices should be shipping with a minimum of 8gb. |

| i remember how the BIG complaining that iphone has no card slot and suddendely its not problem, its actually advantage. this site is really just htc pr site. i have samsung sghi780 and its superior to any wm device on the market. it offers the same like tytn2, but it doesnt have crippled software so its MUCH faster, its has bigger resolution of display, it has qwerty keyboard which can be used just by one hand, it has mouse pad, etc. but this site didnt offer much coverage about samsung. can you honestly tell me if the coverage would be the same if it would be htc device? |

Wow! Thanks Msmobiles and HTC for solving one of the biggest problems with windows mobile devices, I will forever be grateful.. Also thanks for the tip .. I too will wait for HTC to sell the first batch of devices, before buying the special 8Gb pink edition! ..not!
Tip: Leave apples product release/lifecycle tactics to apple..

I hope I too ... Anyone here has forgotten the "IO" of the "MicroSDIO" slot? |

That's not correct.
That's not a micro SD card. That is a micro SDHC card. in general micro/mini SD and SD cards are capable of only up to 2 gigs (there were some 4 gig units but there were also compatibility issues associated with them). The SD standard was appended to include SDHC to allow for more capacity. While the SDHC cards are physically indistinguishable from their SD counterparts, there are differences of protocol. The micro/mini SD and micro/mini SD HC cards are electrically identical to their SD and SDHC counter parts, only their form differs.
If you have a phone that only accepts SD cards than 2 gigs is the max that you can ever have. For example, the AT&T 8125 and 8525 only support Mini SD cards. for some one with one of those devices that wishes to have more memory the only solution is to acquire a newer device. The AT&T Tilt supports the Mini SDHC standard so the 8 gig card would be an option for such a person.

Some desire capacities that are measured in gigabytes, not megabytes. |

I wouldn't bring Apple into the comparison. That's the same company that had said it's computers were better for not using intel processors one day and then another day their computers were better for using intel processors. |

I agree with JNGold,
If we look at it from a product evolutionary view: I have an 8GB microSDHC card (which i got for cheap ~55 US) running in my HTC S710, a Smartphone device (not even a PPC!) that’s over a year old and has more capacity than HTC's latest product!
Given how cheap memory is, HTC’s move doesn’t seem a logicall step in the right direction, if anything competition dictates they should at least match or surpass the one year old 8Gb/16Gb iPhone or even their own products for that matter.
With 3G iPhones just around the corner, HTC should be aiming solely at competing against the next generation iPhones not just the current ones. |

memory card RARELY got data corrupted, and even if data got corrupted, most people got a backup copy of games, mp3, maps, and movies on their home computer, just copy it again! |
